Downtown, Charleston, South Carolina, USA

It is surprising to me, considering the history of rebellion against a monarchy, that so many cities in the U.S. name many of their streets "King Street" or "Queen Street."

In the main shopping district on King Street, the green trolleys may be ridden for FREE!  The two-seat pedicabs are also available (but not for free). I never tire of seeing palm trees on a main street in any town - always green.

We prepare to order lunch in a restaurant as a homeless man passes outside on the sidewalk.  A stark reminder that there are always some  who can't, don't, or won't have a place to call home today.
