Priscilla Beach Theatre (PBT) - A Look Forward and Back, Priscilla Beach, Manomet, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA

Above, the upcoming 2022 performance season at Priscilla Beach Theatre.

Since the 2015 performance season, current Owners and Guardians Bob and Sandy Malone have brought extraordinary live performances to the Priscilla Beach Theatre (PBT) Barn Stage. PBT is one of the original barn summer stock theatres in America. It was founded in 1937 by Dr. Franklin Trask and has been a rigorous summer stock training ground for generations of actors. The above image depicts the upcoming performance season May through October, 2022.

Since the renovation, restoration, and reopening in summer of 2015, there have been 31 different main shows on the Barn Stage. Thousands of folks have delighted in these extraordinary live theatre performance experiences. (PBT also offers separate training workshop programs and performances for children).

If you haven't been to PBT, plan to go to show your support for live performing arts in our community. The next season begins in May 2022 and tickets go on sale in December 2021. Here's the link to the PBT website, pbtheatre.org

Plan to support this neighborhood jewel during the next performance season beginning in May 2022!

The following images show the Playbill covers for each of the main shows during the current stewardship of Owners and Guardians Bob and Sandy Malone. (A normal season has six different shows, May through October. Season 2021 was shortened due to the pandemic restrictions, and Season 2020 was completely postponed for the same reason).

I had the opportunity to photograph a dress rehearsal for each of these shows and you may see the still photos at this link, Live Theatre Photography. The desktop view offers an alphabetical index in the right-side margin. The index is not visible in the mobile phone format.

The Barn Stage has been offering live Broadway-quality shows since 1937.

The theatre was completely renovated in 2014-15 by the current Owners and Guardians Bob and Sandy Malone and features comfy seats and state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems to provide a first-class theatre experience for patrons.

Help keep the performing arts alive in our community - plan to see the upcoming wonderful shows at PBT! Tickets for the 2022 season go on sale in December 2021. Contact PBT online at pbtheatre.org or by phone at 508-224-4888 for ticketing information. Don't delay - demand is very high - historically, performances are usually sold out.

Out and About, White Horse Beach, Manomet, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA

A cold wind keeps all but a few hardy folks away from the beach on this day.

Inland, there are a few isolated stands of color but mostly.....

......the annual fall leaf show is over for this year.

It's time to hunker down and get ready for the winter ahead. And marvel at the completeness of nature's cycles - year after year after year after year.

"Ana Popovic," Spire Center for Performing Arts, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA

Blues/rock musical artist Ana Popovic and her six-piece band put on a great show at the Plymouth Center for Performing Arts recently.

The Spire Center for Performing Arts is in a former church built in 1886 in downtown Plymouth and offers outstanding musical performing artists throughout the year.

Fall, Downtown, Boston, Massachusetts, USA

Surprisingly, I encountered some great fall color on this mid-November visit to downtown Boston - the above image was in Leventhal Park at Post Office Square.

On the Boston Common. Dating from 1634, it is the oldest city park in the United States and is crisscrossed with broad pedestrian avenues like this one.

On the Common.

On the Common.

Humans aren't the only ones who get to enjoy the Common. An unfenced but designated area is set aside for unleashed dogs (well-behaved) to run free and have fun with their furry-friends and the occasional tennis ball.

Across the street from the Common, the Public Garden is equally delightful to wander through or just hang out.

The Public Garden lagoon is popular for ducks or the iconic swan boats during warm weather or skating in the cold of winter.

"Boston Strong" is a motto that became popular following the 2013 Boston Marathon terrorist bombing. These letters are knitted fabric and attached to one of the ball field backstops on the Boston Common.

Fall, Commonwealth Avenue Mall, Boston, Massachusetts, USA

A weekend stroll along the Commonwealth Avenue Mall is a popular activity as folks enjoy perhaps the last weekend day of fall color.

Both sides of the Commonwealth Avenue mall feature classic 4 or 5-story townhouses including a few with green, weeping, copper cladding.

Fall, Along the Charles River, Boston, Massachusetts, USA

The Charles River separates the cities of Cambridge and Boston and is a popular spot for sailing. The Longfellow Bridge is in the background.

Many Harvard sailors were out today enjoying the fall breeze.

I like this Harvard sailboat view against the background of the MIT campus - two world-class institutions of higher learning with neighboring campuses.

The Esplanade runs along the Boston side of the Charles River and offers foot and bicycle trails - and a few remaining colorful fall trees.

Leaving the Esplanade, a footbridge back into downtown Boston to continue my walk - it was about 15,000 steps today.

"Pousette-Dart Band," Spire Center for Performing Arts, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA

Namesake John Pousette-Dart led his bandmates in a well-received set at Plymouth's Spire Center for Performing Arts.

They have been playing on and off since the 70's.

As always, a wonderful musical experience at the Spire Center for Performing Arts in downtown Plymouth.

White Horse Beach, Manomet, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA

We're in that in-between season: it's not cold enough to be uncomfortable nor is it warm enough to be delightful.

The dogs like this time of year as their owners are more likely to let them run free without objection.

Mostly, it's just humans walking along feeling the breeze and hearing the waves.

It's nice here regardless the season.

Fall, Public Garden, Boston, Massachusetts, USA

This might be my final fall visit this year to Boston's Public Garden while there is still some color on the trees.

It was a beautiful November weekend.

A light chill was in the air but still very comfortable to be out and about.

A common sight on a nice day - a painter beside the lagoon capturing a scene.

A yoga practitioner enjoying a quiet spot.

And other random humans walking or sitting.

Or sunning on a warm bench.

A splash of golden leaves.

The area at right is where the famous swan boats dock during the warmer weather.  They have been hauled out for winter - soon, this body of water will be frozen over. The iconic footbridge that crosses the lagoon was built in 1867.

Nice place, Boston.
