After the Blizzard, Manomet, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA

Priscilla Beach Theatre stands proudly in the bright sunshine on the morning after the blizzard.

Bright sun and long shadows make for quite a contrast to yesterday's gray day during the storm.

Visual definition: blowing and drifting snow.

I don't particularly like cold weather or shoveling snow but, on balance, I reluctantly concede they are a fair price to pay to experience nature's beauty and majesty of a winter snowstorm.

The town road department and associated private contractors and their fleet of snow plows make quick work of getting all the roads passable - they know this drill from years of practice.

This sign is up all the time but seems more timely during these conditions on Old Sandwich Road.

This image was made at two o'clock in the afternoon.  The sun is still  surprisingly low on the horizon.

Gellar's Corner, a longstanding landmark in Manomet shines in the bright sunlight. The snack bar/ice cream stand is closed during this part of winter but the auto repair and towing services are open for business as usual.

Overlooking the arc of White Horse Beach at low tide, very little snow accumulated along Manomet Point bluff since the full brunt of the wind mostly blew it all inland.

And now, time to get ready for the next storm, due in a few days..............
