A Cappella, Boston, Massachusetts, USA

A Cappella is music without instrument accompaniment. The word is derived from the Italian and means literally, "according to the style of the chapel."  The annual competition  between a half dozen universities was held at the Cutler Majestic Theatre, a performance venue of Emerson College in downtown Boston. The music is secular and mostly contemporary songs.

It is fitting to have the word "majestic" in its name.

The joyful young men and women were on teams representing MIT, Brandeis, Wellesley, Harvard, and Columbia universities/colleges.

Since when did college age students get to be so young looking?

The event was simulcast on the Emerson College radio station, WERS 88.9 FM.  They also broadcast an a cappella music radio show every Saturday and Sunday from 2-5pm.  Online you can listen at wers.org.

It is always a treat to me to see young folks pursuing an original, live, and "pure" form of musical expression.
